Ice palace

My friend Nina returned to Russia for a visit. A Muscovite, she visited St. Petersburg and took some pictures of the Hermitage and the ice palace. She allowed me to share them with you. I will share three to begin. If there is interest, more.

Wow, I wonder how long it took to create some of these structures. I particularly love the top shot. The contrast between the real building and the ice one is soo nice.

Incredible!!! It amazes me the amount of time and skill required to make these things, just for them to eventually all melt away...thank goodness for photos to remember them and share!
